The national Bulgarian airline is Balkan Bulgaria Airlines. However, there are already a number of companies with routes to Sofia and other airports in Bulgaria. British Airways, Air Italia, KLM, Lufthansa and the low cost airline
Bulgaria Air, to name but a few.

No visas are required for CIS citizens for a stay of one month, provided they are in the possession of a valid passport, a voucher for pre-paid tourist services or if they pay the sum of 40 USD for each day of their stay in the country.
Now that Bulgaria is part of the European Union, more flights to Bulgaria will be available. Economy airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair are thought to have submitted requests to the Bulgarian government to provide more routes and make the country more accessible.
