Golf in Bulgaria is increasing in popularity and there are already a number of new courses have been opened and proposed around the country. The most adventurous and perhaps most exciting is in Kavarna designed by Gary Player, and already open the "Thracian Cliff Golf Course" the biggest one along the northern Black Sea coast. The golf course has provoked a great deal of investment interest in the region and many projects for luxurious complexes, golf and spa centre and residence apartments have been launched. For example, a second golf course called Kaliakra Golf and Sea complex spread on 17 000 square metres of land and situated very close to the "Thracian Cliffs". The project includes 104 apartments, swimming pools, trade areas and sports facilities. You can see the Kaliakra apartments here.
For the golf enthusiast who has not yet tried Bulgaria and who is thinking of doing so would not be disappointed with the quality of the courses and the facilities that accompany them. Even the ski area is to be represented by a course in the ski capital, Bansko. It is thought that within the next 15 years as many as 40 golf courses will be available all over Bulgaria.
For those who are keen on golf and are looking for an investment opportunity would be wise to watch developments closely. Prime development land has in some cases been bought adjacent to the newly proposed golf courses, with the idea of constructing apartments or sports complexes. Why not pack up your set of clubs and head out to one of Bulgaria's many golf courses and at the same time take in the atmosphere of this little known country, experience a different culture that is not as far away as you might think.
Making time to play golf in Bulgaria is probably not as difficult as you think, there are plenty of flights to Sofia, inexpensive hotels, and remember the courses are only a short distance away.
