Kavarna has nice beaches and new apartment complexes with open views to the bay andi s less than a hours drive from the International airport in Varna. The golf course designed by Gary Player is right there on the coasts edge. Golf is increasing in popularity in Bulgaria all the time, and even the ski resorts can offer the golf enthusiast a game.
Skiing in Bulgaria is also very popular. There has been a great deal of new investment in the skiing regions of Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets. Many new apartment complexes have been opened and offer a great many services including swimming facilities and adventure sports. Bansko has long since been popular with skiers from all over Europe, now Borovets is becoming a complet tourist destination. However do take caution as the Bulgarian police are always extremely vigilant regarding speeding cars and speed limits do tend to change excessively within short distances. Driving through the Balkans and visiting some of the small villages around the area will treat you to some of the most beautiful countryside in Bulgaria. Veliko Tarnovo is a great alternative holiday destination, with historical places to visit, countryside and rivers to enjoy and a number of tradicional hostels and Hotels to stay in.
Bulgaria is abundant in natural vegetation and wildlife. Deer, wild boar, bears and numerous species of birds can be seen. In fact Bulgaria has no less than 49 protected areas, 17 bio spherical reserves (the most in Europe) and 7 national parks. There a 1000´s of protected natural sites, the countryside is simply wonderful and therefore Bulgarian holidays are a pleasure.
